noroccidente del Ecuador, en el cant\u00f3n Cotacachi, provincia de Imbabura, en una zona de encuentro entre la <\/span><b>bioregi\u00f3n del Choc\u00f3 y los Andes Tropicales<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Est\u00e1 ubicada dentro de la microcuenca del r\u00edo Manduriacu, un territorio caracterizado por su extraordinaria diversidad biol\u00f3gica, pero que al mismo tiempo enfrenta fuertes amenazas relacionadas con la <\/span><b>miner\u00eda, ganader\u00eda, deforestaci\u00f3n, invasiones, megaproyectos de infraestructura y monocultivos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2cdae07 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2cdae07\" 400;\">La zona presenta niveles muy altos de precipitaci\u00f3n y humedad y temperaturas que oscilan aproximadamente entre <\/span><b>18 y 20 \u00b0C<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La reserva forma parte del <\/span><b>\u00c1rea de Conservaci\u00f3n y Uso Sostenible Municipal Intag\u2013Tois\u00e1n (ACUSMIT)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, creada por el GAD Municipal de Cotacachi mediante ordenanza el <\/span><b>18 de abril de 2019<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Adem\u00e1s, se encuentra junto al <\/span><b>Parque Nacional Cotacachi-Cayapas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> y los Bosques Protectores <\/span><b>Los Cedros y El Ceb\u00fa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, contribuyendo a consolidar un espacio importante para la conservaci\u00f3n en la parte baja de la provincia de Imbabura.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9af7e97 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"9af7e97\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3baa5dd elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"3baa5dd\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"spacer.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer-inner\"><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1e9b78a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1e9b78a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La intervenci\u00f3n de Fundaci\u00f3n EcoMinga en esta zona surgi\u00f3 a partir del trabajo conjunto con <\/span><b>Fundaci\u00f3n C\u00f3ndor Andino<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, mediante el cual se identific\u00f3 inicialmente un \u00e1rea de aproximadamente <\/span><b>600 hect\u00e1reas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> alrededor de la comunidad de Villaflora de Manduriacu con gran importancia para la conservaci\u00f3n. The reserve lies within the micro-watershed of the Manduriacu River\u2014an area of extraordinary biodiversity that faces serious threats from mining, livestock grazing, deforestation, land invasions, large infrastructure projects, and monocultures. The region has high rainfall and humidity, with average temperatures between 18\u201320\u00b0C.<\/p><p>This reserve is part of the Municipal Conservation and Sustainable Use Area of Intag-Tois\u00e1n (ACUSMIT), created by ordinance of the Cotacachi Municipal Government on April 18, 2019. It borders Cotacachi-Cayapas National Park and the Los Cedros and El Ceb\u00fa Protected Forests, forming a critical conservation landscape in the lower elevations of Imbabura Province.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-108c48d e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"108c48d\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-38fa5ca elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"38fa5ca\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"spacer.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer-inner\"><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b9f0e69 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b9f0e69\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>\u00a0<\/p><p>EcoMinga\u2019s presence in the area began in partnership with Fundaci\u00f3n C\u00f3ndor Andino, which identified an initial 600-hectare priority zone around the community of Villaflora de Manduriacu. Under a co-management agreement, EcoMinga now manages and protects 966 hectares within the reserve.<\/p><p>One of the most significant milestones here was the rediscovery of the (<em>Nymphargus balionotus<\/em>a species once thought extinct and now listed as Critically Endangered (CR). The reserve has also yielded discoveries of species new to science, such as the<em>Rhaebo olallai<\/em>and the Nouns Glassfrog (Hyalinobatrachium nouns),<em>Hyalinobatrachium nouns<\/em>endemic to the
